Emphasizing interdisciplinarity and the global dimension, the Initiative develops undergraduate and graduate academic programs in the comparative study of race and ethnicity.
Academic programming initiatives include:
- Course development grants to faculty and graduate students
- Sponsorship of pedagogy working groups and/or colloquia across the University
- Pedagogy workshops in partnership with Notre Dame's Learning Kaneb Center and the Center on Literacy Education
- Educational outreach through lecture series, art exhibitions, film series, and other cultural programs, often in collaboration with existing units on campus
- Faculty-student mentorship program
- Faculty mentorship program
- Artist-in-residence program to bring the arts into the classroom
