Over the past year, Critical Race Theory has become a hotly contested issue. Much of the recent debate has centered around school curricula in the context of a polarized electorate, but the issue touches on every aspect of society—institutions, history, identity, justice, and faith.
These conversations have raised important questions. What, precisely, is Critical Race Theory? Why has it caused tensions between some Christians? And how might people of faith work together to address racism in America and move toward a more just, equitable, and inclusive democracy?
